...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES THROUGH THURSDAY
NIGHT...
.A moderate, long-period south swell is building this morning,
and is expected to bring advisory level surf today. The swell
will likely peak tonight into Friday just below warning levels.
A reinforcing pulse of long- period south swell energy will keep
surf elevated beyond Friday, which may require the advisory to be
extended through the weekend.
* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 ft.
* WHERE...South facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands.
* WHEN...From 6 AM this morning to 6 AM HST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous.
Instruction:
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.
