...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT... .Forerunners from a moderate, long-period south swell are already reaching Hawaii this afternoon. The swell builds tonight into Thursday, with surf increasing to advisory level along south- facing shores sometime on Thursday. Thursday night into Friday, the swell may peak near warning level. Long-period south swell energy will keep surf elevated beyond Friday, which may require the advisory to be extended through the weekend. * WHAT...Surf 8 to 12 ft. * WHERE...South facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. * WHEN...From 6 AM Thursday to 6 AM HST Friday. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.
