Future
Effective:
July 3, 2026 - 5:07am
Expires:
July 3, 2026 - 1:00pm
Description:
* WHAT...Significant coastal flooding.
* WHERE...North, east and south facing shorelines of Guam, Rota,
Tinian and Saipan.
* WHEN...Through late Monday night.
* IMPACTS...Several roads may be closed or dangerous to cross,
especially near the shores. Low lying property including homes,
businesses, and some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Some
shoreline erosion may occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An intensifying Typhoon Bavi (09W) continues
to barrel toward the Marianas from the east, with coastal
inundation becoming likely beginning late Sunday afternoon,
potentially sooner if the system moves faster. Once the system
exits to the west-northwest by Tuesday night, coastal erosion is
likely to spread to west facing shores while dissipating elsewhere,
but timing is highly uncertain.
Instruction:
A coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for flooding
are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be alert for later
statements or warnings...and take action to protect property.
