Seek safe shelter now if you're not there already! .AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides information and recommended actions for people in Guam and the Northern Marianas. .WATCHES/WARNINGS... A Typhoon Warning continues for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Alamagan. A Tropical Storm Watch continues for Pagan and Agrihan. A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. A High Surf Warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Guam and the Northern Marianas. Please listen closely for any Flood Warnings that might be in effect for your area. Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed information about additional hazards. .STORM INFORMATION... At 8 PM ChST...the center of Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) was located near latitude 13.6N...longitude 147.6E. This was about 190 miles east of Guam. Storm motion was northwest, 305 degrees, at 10 mph. Storm intensity was 165 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... Catastrophic wind damage could occur near the eye of Super Typhoon Bavi. Additionally, storm surge, runup, and hazardous surf will also contribute hazardous effects.
