Description:
At 640 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Myakka River State Park, or 11 miles east of Sarasota, moving north
at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Sarasota, Bradenton, Myakka River State Park, The Meadows, Lakewood
Ranch, Sarasota Springs, Lake Sarasota, Parrish, Kensington Park,
Ellenton, Gator Creek Estate, Lake Manatee State Park, Bee Ridge,
Hidden River, Fruitville, and Desoto Lakes.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
