Description:
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding.
For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents. For the
High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 3 to 11 feet
expected in the surf zone.
* WHERE...South Walton, Coastal Bay and Coastal Gulf Counties.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 2 PM EDT /1 PM
CDT/ Wednesday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through late
Wednesday night. For the High Surf Advisory, from 8 AM EDT /7
AM CDT/ Tuesday to 5 AM EDT /4 AM CDT/ Thursday.
* IMPACTS...With minor coastal flooding expected, water around
the time of high tide will flood low-lying parks and roads
along the immediate coast. Dangerous swimming and surfing
conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep
even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels will continue to remain
elevated into Wednesday. As winds shift onshore later this
evening, the highest water levels are expected tonight into
Wednesday. The next high tide is around 230 am CDT Wednesday.
Instruction:
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
Beachgoers should should stay out of the water due to dangerous
surf conditions.
