Description:
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
continues.
* WHERE...Southern Larimer County in north central Colorado within
the upper Buckhorn Basin in the Cameron Peak burn area...
* WHEN...Until 430 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 303 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This may cause small stream flooding. Between 0.5
and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Rainfall has ended, but small
streams may remain elevated for the next hour or two.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Buckhorn Creek, Cascade Creek.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams, roads
and roadside culverts in the affected part of the Cameron Peak burn
area. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris flows.
