Description:
At 644 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 16 miles west of Chui-Chu
to 7 miles southeast of Freeman. Movement was northwest at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
These storms will remain over mainly rural areas of Maricopa and
Pinal Counties.
This includes AZ Interstate 8 between mile markers 148 and 158.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MST for
south central and southeastern Arizona.
