East Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...
Northeastern Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 700 PM MST.
* At 607 PM MST, an area of blowing dust was located near Tombstone,
moving west at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility.
SOURCE...Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.
IMPACT...Hazardous travel.
* Locations impacted include...
Sierra Vista, Benson, Hereford, Whetstone, Huachuca City, St.
David, Tombstone, Elgin, Kartchner Caverns State Park, Fort
Huachuca, Parker Canyon Lake, Mescal, Fairbank, Charleston, Canelo
and Ramsey Canyon Preserve.
This includes the following highways...
Route 90 between mile markers 290 and 336. Route 80 between mile
markers 293 and 318...and between mile markers 324 and 328...and near
mile marker 333. Route 92 between mile markers 322 and 331.
Interstate 10 between mile markers 288 and 305...and near mile marker
307. Route 82 between mile markers 38 and 67. Route 83 between mile
markers 3 and 23.
Instruction:
Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust. PULL ASIDE
STAY ALIVE!
Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
