* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1145 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 939 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Robles Wash, Los, Oro, Caada del, Big Wash, Indian Well Wash, Santa Cruz River, Chalk Creek, Rillito River and Guild Wash. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oro Valley, Marana, Casas Adobes, Tortolita and Dove Mountain. - This includes the following highways... Route 77 between mile markers 75 and 79. Interstate 10 between mile markers 233 and 248. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
