Description:
* WHAT...South to southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to
50 mph expected.
* WHERE...Western Kenai Peninsula along and near Cook Inlet.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result. Dipnetting and other recreational
activities along Cook Inlet beaches will be impacted by high winds
and rough seas, with 8 to 12 foot waves coming off of Cook Inlet.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will occur between around
7am and Noon. Cook Inlet beaches, especially from the Kenai River
to Nikiski will see the highest wind gusts.
Instruction:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Secure outdoor objects.
