Description:
* WHAT...Southeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 65 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Anchorage and Eagle River Hillsides.
* WHEN...Until noon AKDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result. The combination of saturated soils and
wind could also lead to downed trees, especially already damaged
or diseased trees.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds have diminished as the first round of
strong winds comes to an end. There will be a lull in winds this
afternoon, then the second round of strong winds will begin
tonight and persist through Thursday morning. Rain will be heavier
today as compared to yesterday, and saturated soils could lead to
downed trees.
Instruction:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Secure outdoor objects.
