Description:
An Arctic cold front extending from the high arctic will move southeast towards mainland Alaska. This front will likely bring chances of precipitation along higher terrain beginning Thursday. Current model guidance supports the possibility of light rain Friday morning, with a transition to snow expected towards the evening and overnight hours. Storm total snowfall accumulations could be 3 to 5 inches, however with surface temperatures above freezing, the snow is not anticipated to stick to the road. If the roads remain wet overnight Friday then there could be patches of ice, due to air temperatures dipping into the 20s above.
