Description:
At 359 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from Concord to near Helena to
near West Blocton. Movement was east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Bessemer, Homewood,
Pelham, Mountain Brook, Helena, Hueytown, Calera, Fairfield, Chelsea,
Montevallo, Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Brighton, Indian Springs
Village, Lipscomb, and Sylvan Springs.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
