Description: 
At 624 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking several strong thunderstorms across southwestern Cullman County, with the strongest cell near Dodge City, or 12 miles southwest of Cullman. Storms were moving west-southwestward at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40-50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Dodge City, Colony, Wilburn, Logan, Bremen, Arkadelphia, Black Bottom, Crane Hill, and Smith Lake.
Instruction: 
If on or near Smith Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
