Description:
At 713 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a large cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Guntersville, moving west at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40-50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Southern Huntsville, Guntersville, Arab, Owens Cross Roads, Grant,
Morgan City, Union Grove, Hulaco, Columbus City, and Eddy.
Instruction:
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this cluster of
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
north central and northeastern Alabama.
