Description:
At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Piedmont to Springville. Movement was north at
10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gadsden, Jacksonville, Rainbow City, Oneonta, Attalla, Piedmont,
Hokes Bluff, Springville, Odenville, Glencoe, Margaret, Argo,
Ashville, Ragland, Locust Fork, Ohatchee, Steele, Allgood, Pleasant
Gap, and Gadsden Mall.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
central, northeastern and east central Alabama.
