Description:
At 332 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Moundville, or 11 miles south of Tuscaloosa. This thunderstorm was
nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Moundville, Low Gap, Mertz, Eoline, Shelton State Community College,
Englewood, Little Sandy, Maxwell, Moundville Airport, Phipps,
Taylorville, Fosters Boat Landing, Hull, Hagler, Mound State Park,
Duncanville, Fosters, Pearson, Elliots Creek, and Harmon.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
central and west central Alabama.
