Description:
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Jefferson and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 745 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 541 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Birmingham, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook,
Irondale, Fultondale, Pleasant Grove, Adamsville, Graysville,
Sylvan Springs, Brookside, Mulga, Maytown, West Jefferson,
Birmingham Southern College, Legion Field, Ensley, Birmingham
Fairgounds, B.j.c.c. and Forestdale.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
