...The Flood Warning continues for the following river in Wisconsin... Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Wisconsin River at Portage. * WHEN...Until early Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Local officials start sandbagging parts of Highway 51 south of Portage. Indian Trail in Lake Delton is flooded. Other roads that are flooded are River Oaks Road in the Town of Dekorra, River Shores Road in the Town of Lewiston, Levee Road, Summit St, Conant St, Wood Street and Thunderbird Road in the Portage area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 19.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 AM CDT Thursday was 19.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.7 feet on 09/28/2010. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
