Description:
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 2 to 4 inches
across the area, locally higher amounts are possible near the
ridgetops above 3000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...In Maryland, Western Garrett County. In Virginia, Western
Highland County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western
Pendleton Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 11 AM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. This includes
I-68/US-40 west of LaVale, MD, US-219 from the PA line to WV line,
US-48 west of Moorefield, WV, US-250 west of Monterey, VA, and
US-33/WV-28 west of Franklin, WV. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Tuesday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree
damage.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Behind a very strong cold front, temperatures
will fall rapidly through the evening and night. This may lead to
flash freeze conditions as temperatures plummet to below freezing.
Wind chill temperatures tonight will fall into the lower single
digits.
