Description:
...ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL
PANHANDLE THROUGH MONDAY...
.A weakening open low is located over Baranof Island as of 2AM
AKST, with persistent snow showers ongoing across the southern
central and southern panhandle. Minor forecast update increasing
forecast snowfall accumulations for Kake and Petersburg and
extending in time a few hours with the wave of showers slowing a
bit. Otherwise the forecast remains on track. Snow showers may
bring visibility down to less then a mile at times, with light to
moderate snowfall rates expected. Localized higher snowfall rates
will remain possible with heavier showers, with most accumulations
happening through Monday morning. As the low continues to stall
over northern Baranof and Chichagof Islands, communities such as
Tenakee Springs and Angoon have the possibility of seeing more
continuous snow showers overnight into Monday morning. Uncertainty
remains for the final positioning of the low, as different
positions may bring different snow totals to the communities it
sits over.
