...ACCUMULATING SNOW FOLLOWED BY RAIN FOR MOST NORTHERN SE AK...
.Heavy snow showers are changing over to rain across the Icy
Strait Corridor. Snow is holding on longer for areas north of the
Icy Strait Corridor (Haines), with a changeover to rain expected
through late Thursday evening. The one exception will be the
Klondike Highway, which will stay cold enough to remain snow
through Friday.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches.
Visibilities as low as 1/2 mile.
* WHERE...Haines Borough, Klukwan,Chilkat Peninsula south of
Haines.
* WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Spotters in the area report around 6 to 9
inches have accumulated around the area since midnight. Snow
will end through the evening with highest snow amounts
anticipated in the town area and south along the peninsula. The
snow is expected to start to transition to through the late
evening hours.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of
winter weather.
