...ACCUMULATING SNOW FOLLOWED BY RAIN FOR MOST NORTHERN SE AK...
.Heavy snow showers have are changing over to rain across the Icy
Strait Corridor. Snow could hold on longer for areas north of the
Icy Strait Corridor (Haines) before a changeover to rain occurs.
The one exception will be the Klondike Highway, which will stay
cold enough to remain snow through Friday.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches.
* WHERE...Haines Borough and Klukwan and the Chilkat Peninsula
south of Haines.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Around 6 inches have already accumulated
around the area since midnight. Heaviest snow amounts
anticipated in the town area and south along the peninsula. The
snow is expected to start to transition to through the evening
hours.
Instruction:
Slow down and use caution while traveling.
People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of
winter weather.
