.A kona storm is likely to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the
summits beginning this evening and lasting through Sunday afternoon.
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations up to 10
inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph. Light snow
may linger Sunday night into Monday.
* WHERE...Big Island Summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
* WHEN...From this evening through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods
of zero visibility.
