...A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE BIG ISLAND SUMMIMTS ABOVE 12000 FEET... .A kona storm is expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the summits through this evening. * WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations up to 10 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph. Light snow may linger tonight into Monday. * WHERE...Big Island Summits. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods of zero visibility.
