At 427 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Alton to near Virgilina to near Staunton River State Park. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. Locations impacted include... Clarksville, Boydton, Buffalo Springs, Nelson, John H Kerr Dam, Finchley, Skipwith, Rogers Corner, Richardson, Buffalo Junction, Keats, Eppes Fork, John H Kerr Reservoir, and Baskerville.
