Description: 
At 228 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Troy, or 8 miles north of Palmyra, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Locations impacted include... Louisa, Mineral, Hadensville, Lake Monticello, Gum Spring, Ferncliff, Bumpass, Boswells Tavern, Kents Store, Troy, Orchid, Louisa Airport, Green Springs, Irwin, Waldrop, Tabscott, Trevilians, Othma, Wilmington, and Pendleton.
Instruction: 
Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central Virginia.
