At 556 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong thunderstorm over Draper, or near Sandy, moving northwest at 35 mph. Additional thunderstorms are developing near Vernon moving northwest around 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Provo, Sandy, Layton, Murray, Bountiful, Tooele, Payson, Farmington, Grantsville, Hill Air Force Base, West Jordan, Orem, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Riverton, and Roy. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 238 and 338. Interstate 84 between mile markers 83 and 86. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 60 and 128. US Route 6 between mile markers 125 and 184.
