Description:
At 539 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 7 miles southwest of Ramirez, or 13 miles east of
Hebbronville, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Zapata, Falfurrias, Hebbronville, Agua Nueva, San Ygnacio,
Bustamante, Medina, Zapata High School, Randado, and Airport Road
Addition.
This includes the following highways...
US Highway 83 between mile markers 738 and 780.
US Highway 281 between mile markers 708 and 730.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
Deep South Texas.
