Description: 
At 226 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Botines, or 16 miles southwest of Encinal, moving north at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Encinal, Botines, La Esperanza Ranch Airport, and Callaghan. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35 between mile markers 18 and 40. US Highway 83 between mile markers 674 and 698.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for south central Texas.
