Description:
At 1214 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of Yoakum
to near Thomaston to Weesatche. Movement was east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Victoria, Guadalupe, Fordtran, Victoria Colony Creek Country Club,
Schroeder, Dacosta, Ander, Wood Hi, Mission Valley, Victoria Detar
Hospital North, Weesatche, Weser, Nursery, Victoria Riverside Park,
Victoria College, Victoria Mall, Saxet Lakes, Brentwood Subdivision,
Inez, and Salem.
This includes the following highways...
US Highway 183 between mile markers 626 and 630.
US Highway 59 between mile markers 624 and 646.
US Highway 77 between mile markers 560 and 586.
US Highway 87 between mile markers 798 and 822.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
south central Texas.
