Description:
At 1013 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Tilden, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
George West, Three Rivers, Tilden, Choke Canyon, Loma Alta, Cross,
Fowlerton, Calliham, Annarose, Crowther, Simmons, Whitsett, and
Clegg.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 37 between mile markers 68 and 83.
US Highway 281 between mile markers 618 and 648.
US Highway 59 between mile markers 722 and 746.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
south central Texas.
