Description: 
At 849 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms capable of producing a landspout along a line extending from 12 miles northeast of Mentone to 18 miles southeast of Balmorhea Lake. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Landspouts, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Pecos, Fort Stockton, Monahans, Wink, Thorntonville, Grandfalls, Barstow, Pyote, Wickett, Fort Stockton-Pecos County Airport, Toyah Lake, Coyanosa, Imperial Reservoir, Roy Hurd Memorial Airport, Monahans Sandhills State Park, Royalty, B F Goodrich Testing Track, Firestone Test Track, Imperial, and Winkler County Airport. This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 between mile markers 220 and 275. Interstate 20 between mile markers 42 and 97.

Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
