Description:
At 1248 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 11 miles southeast of Coahoma to near Sterling
City to near Broome. Movement was northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Sterling City, Silver, Broome, Sanco, E.V. Spence Reservoir Near
Paint Creek Recreation Area, and The Intersection Of Highway 158 And
Ranch Road 2059.
Instruction:
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
