Description:
At 1118 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Hearne
to near Caldwell to near Fayetteville. Movement was east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
College Station, Bryan, Caldwell, Snook, Wixon Valley, Kyle Field,
Bryan Utilities Lake, Lake Somerville State Park & Trailway,
Deanville, and Chriesman.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for
southeastern Texas.
