Description:
At 737 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sour Lake, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Beaumont, Sour Lake, Nome, and China.
This includes Interstate 10 in Texas near mile marker 851, and
between mile markers 846 and 838.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
