Description:
At 626 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles southwest of Amistad Acres, or 21 miles southwest of Comstock,
moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Del Rio, Lake View, Amistad Village, Black Brush Point, Amistad
Acres, Box Canyon, Val Verde Park, Diablo East, Cienegas Terrace,
Governors Landing, Long Point, Laughlin AFB, Devils Shores, 277 South
Boat Ramp, 277 North Campground, San Pedro Canyon, Rough Canyon
Recreation Area, Spur 406 Campground, Rock Quarry Campground, and
Salem Point.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
south central Texas.
