At 941 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Holly Beach, or 8 miles west of South Padre Island, moving east at 20 mph. Port Isabel airport reported a wind gust of 61 mph at 932 AM CDT. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated and observed. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Laguna Vista Police Department, Holly Beach, Laguna Heights, Port Isabel High School, and Port Isabel--Laguna Heights.
