Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Central Cameron County in deep south Texas...
* WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours
for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage
systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1150 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
in the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Benito, Los Fresnos, South Padre Island, Rancho Viejo,
Laureles, Olmito, Brownsville, Los Fresnos High School, Los
Fresnos City Offices, Palmer Laasko Elementary, Lopez - Riggins
Elementary School, Los Cuates, Resaca Middle School, Rancho Verde
Elementary School, Laguna Vista Police Department, Library
Memorial Middle School, Olmito Lake, Laguna Heights, Port Isabel
High School and Rancho Viejo City Hall.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
