Description:
At 1135 PM CDT, The Abilene Police Department reported street
flooding throughout the city of Abilene. A Mesonet site in the
northeastern part of Abilene has recorded 2.10 inches of rain. Radar
continues to show showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain
overspreading the Abilene area. Up to an additional inch of rain is
likely through 1215 AM. The additional rainfall will continue to
produce flash flooding.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Intersections along Sammons Street, Intersections along Buttonwillow
Parkway, Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive, Texas Avenue
at Arnold Boulevard, Butternut Underpass, South 27th Street at
Catclaw Creek, FM 3308 crossing Draw, 2000 block of Oak Street,
Antilley Rd. crossing Button Willow Creek and North 6th Street and
Willis.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
