At 851 AM CDT, Earlier thunderstorms reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area has resulted in flash flooding. The Department of Transportation has reported over 30 flooded roadway across the San Antonio metro. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... San Antonio, New Braunfels, Schertz, Seguin, Cibolo, Converse, Universal City, Live Oak, Selma, Castroville, San Antonio Int Airport, Randolph AFB, Stinson Municipal Airport, Leon Valley, Helotes, Kirby, Alamo Heights, Windcrest, Terrell Hills and Garden Ridge.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
