Western Terry County in northwestern Texas...
Yoakum County in northwestern Texas...
* Until 545 PM CDT.
* At 518 PM CDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 9
miles northeast of Plains to near Denver City, moving east at 40
mph.
HAZARD...Near zero visibility with damaging wind in excess of 70
mph.
SOURCE...Doppler radar and webcams.
IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.
Locations impacted include...
Denver City, Plains, Tokio, and Wellman. This also includes US-82
between Plains and Brownfield.
Instruction:
Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible behind this wall of
