Description: 
At 1038 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Goldston to near Pinehurst to 6 miles west of Rockingham. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Sanford, Laurinburg, Southern Pines, Rockingham, Raeford, Lillington, Carthage, Fort Bragg, and Pinehurst. This includes the following highways... US 1 between Mile Markers 69 and 76. Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 26 and 34.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
