Description: 
At 1203 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Smithdale, or 12 miles northwest of Mccomb, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mccomb, Summit, and Smithdale. This includes Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 17 and 24.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for southern Mississippi.
