Description:
At 1133 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Pittsburg, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburg, Prairie State Park, Frontenac, Girard, Arma, Liberal,
Cherokee, Mulberry, Chicopee, Mindenmines, Franklin, Arcadia,
Burgess, Beulah, Croweburg, Yale, Ringo, Oskaloosa, Lone Oak, and
Polk.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for southeastern
Kansas...and southwestern Missouri.
