At 648 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lafayette, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, West Lafayette, Shadeland, Dayton, and Purdue University.
This includes Interstate 65 between mile markers 165 and 176.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for north central
and west central Indiana.
