At 356 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Fruita, or 10 miles northwest of Grand Junction, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, and Redlands. This includes Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 18 and 24, between mile markers 26 and 31, and between mile markers 39 and 41.
