A compact area of low pressure east of Kodiak Island will continue to push bands of moderate to heavy snow showers across the region through this evening. The heaviest snow showers are likely to occur across the northeast part of the island, including Kodiak City. Expect visibility to drop to as low as one half mile at times. Gusty northwest winds may also result in localized areas of blowing and drifting snow. Two to four inches of snow is possible in areas of persistent snow bands.
