At 230 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Piedmont, or 11 miles northwest of Rapid City, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Rapid City, northwestern Ellsworth Air Force Base, Black Hawk, Summerset, Nemo, and Piedmont. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 42 and 60.
